Support Staff- Veteran Residential Homeless Facility

Carlos Lopez & Associates LLC is currently seeking on-site support staff for a Residential Homeless Facility (Bridge Home) for up to 100 male Veterans located on the campus of the VAGLAHS medical center. A variety of daytime, overnight, evening, and weekend shifts are available.  The facility will be open 365 days a year, 24 hours per day.  Veterans will be referred to the facility by VAGLASH staff and other community agencies who are currently engaged in a collaborative effort to end homelessness in the City of Los Angeles. 

Responsibilities will include working to ensure that the building is clean, safe, and welcoming for all, assisting meal providers and other sub-contractors, limited cleaning, minimal laundry and general administrative functions.  Duties also include communicating with Case Managers and Program Director about issues, concerns or problems that may occur during shift, attending in-service training as assigned, and remaining awake at all times during shift. 

The program will be staffed with a Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, Case Managers and on-site support staff.  Food and beverage services, janitorial services, laundry services and Security will be sub-contracted to outside agencies. 

Founded in 2012 and in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Administration (VA), CL&A provides HUD-VASH Case Management services to assist in securing and maintaining stable housing and support to homeless/formerly homeless Veterans.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and one (1) year of continuous experience working in support of homeless populations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal, written and electronic mediums.
  • Strong teamwork orientation.
  • Willing to work with individuals who may have mental health, chemical health or physical disabilities.
  • Selected candidates will require successful completion of criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
